Job Title: Tech Pack Technician
Job Overview:
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Tech Pack Technician to join our team. The Tech Pack Technician will be responsible for creating accurate and comprehensive technical packages (tech packs) for our apparel and accessory designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and manufacturing processes, as well as proficiency in relevant software tools.
Responsibilities:
- Tech Pack Creation: Develop detailed and accurate tech packs for each product design, including flat sketches, measurements, construction details, and material specifications.
- Measurement Specification: Ensure precise measurement specifications are provided for each size and style, adhering to industry standards and brand requirements.
- Material Selection: Collaborate with designers and suppliers to select appropriate materials, trims, and hardware for each product, considering factors such as performance, cost, and sustainability.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Development: Create comprehensive bills of materials (BOMs) for each product, listing all components and quantities required for production.
- Construction Details: Specify construction methods, seam types, stitching details, and other technical aspects of garment assembly to ensure accurate replication during manufacturing.
- Grading: Assist with garment grading by providing size specifications and grading rules for each style, ensuring consistent fit across different sizes.
- Sample Development Support: Work closely with sample makers and production teams to ensure accurate interpretation and execution of tech pack specifications during sample development and production stages.
- Quality Control: Review and verify all tech packs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Documentation Management: Maintain organized records of all tech packs, BOMs, and related documents, ensuring easy access and retrieval for reference and future use.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, apparel engineering, textile technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a tech pack technician, technical designer, or similar role in the apparel industry.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques, patternmaking, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or other relevant design software.
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software systems is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and measurement.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
